Welcome To The Learner Advancement Group

The Learner Advancement Group (LAG) is a registered Section 18A, Public Benefit Organisation.

The organisation was established to support learners across various communities by providing the necessary skills to define life and career goals and formulate realistic high school exit plans before reaching grade twelve.

To achieve this vision, we have designed the after-school programmes for GET and FET Phases, respectively. The organisation was established on the premise that by Grade 12, every learner must have clearly defined career goals and be prepared to follow a successful life after high school.

oVERVIEW OF The LAG Vision, Mission and Values

vision

Empowering learners with the necessary skills required to define life and career goals and be able to formulate high school exit plans before reaching grade twelve.

mission

Promoting the development of strong self-awareness, self-confidence and self-concept.

values

To nourish every learner’s potential to achieve great things.

OVERVIEW OF THE LAG PROGRAMMES

We provide after-school programmes designed to stimulate positive behaviour, increase dedication to education, and contribute to school completion and matric pass rate.

Minds and Hearts Programme (MHP) for learners in the GET Senior Phase is intended to develop strong self-awareness, self-concept, and leadership skills. At this level, our goal is to support learners in discovering personal dreams and desires.

Brilliant Basics Programme (BBP) for learners in the FET Phase is a practical career coaching programme that enables participants to formulate and work towards realistic high school exit plans.

The LAG programmes and other psychosocial support initiatives are carefully planned to ensure touchpoints with Grade 8 to 12. This way, we can remain a trusted partner and a team of nurturing adults to learners throughout high school.
